Academic Team – Lori McBride
The NHMS Academic Team has been a long-standing tradition in our school. Our team has won numerous county and regional championships.
The Academic Team competes against all other middle schools in Hall County during the fall season. Students answer questions based on math, science, social studies, language arts, and general trivia. The team is open to all grade levels and each level participates in both the A and B teams.
FCA – Fellowship of Christian Athletes – Debbie Wiley
FCA is a wonderful experience for all who attend. FCA meets every Thursday morning from 7:40-8:15. We have a guest speaker each week from different churches in the community. We sing fun, uplifting songs that everyone enjoys.

The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished, through “hands on” learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agricultural awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship. Please see Mrs. Durham for more information.

The mission of Tome Student Literacy Society is to promote multiple literacies among 3rd – 12th grade students across the U.S. through: service, collaboration; competition-based club activities; and clean, entertaining, encouraging literature. Art Club – Taylor Shoemake
Art club is for anyone and everyone! Art club meets every other Thursday after school until 5 PM. See Ms. Shoemake for a permission form and a schedule. In art club, students get to create independent artworks and explore materials we might not be able to use in class. In the past, students have created public artworks for the Elachee Nature Center, created art pieces that have been auctioned off for charity, and made artworks that serve the needs of our school. All members create a unique, independently designed piece for the school wide spring art exhibition.
Drama Club – Ashley Whelchel
Drama Club meets on Fridays after school and is open to any NHMS student with any level of experience! We’ll do workshops on different theatre topics, attend shows together and produce a play in the Spring. For more information, contact Dr. Whelchel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
DECA Club – Michelle Wiley
DECA is a co-curricular organization that allows students to grow in their knowledge of marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA is co-curricular because we are able to incorporate it into our classroom to enhance student engagement, as well as an after school club. Our club meets after school once a month in room 402 (marketing classroom). We participate in service leadership and in DECA competitions for hands-on learning
