The Agricultural Education program offers a variety of courses that introduce students to the many areas of the agricultural industry and the important role agriculture plays in everyday life. Through hands-on learning experiences, students explore topics such as agricultural leadership, employability skills, animal science, plant science, forestry and natural resources, agribusiness, and agricultural mechanics. Students also gain an understanding of American and Georgia agricultural history, the National FFA Organization, and the significance of agricultural education programs. These courses help students develop leadership skills, discover career opportunities within the agriculture industry, and understand how agriculture impacts their communities and daily lives.

These studio-based art classes focus on developing artistic skills, creative expression, and an understanding of visual art concepts through a variety of media and techniques. Students will build foundational skills while exploring the elements and principles of art and design through both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork. Through experiences in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, fiber arts, woodworking, and other craft-oriented art forms, students will develop techniques in composition, craftsmanship, and creative problem-solving. The courses also emphasize classroom routines, artistic practices, collaboration, and the creative process while encouraging students to develop their own artistic voice and creativity. Throughout the year, students will explore how art connects to culture, community, history, environment, personal identity, and other academic disciplines while learning how artists communicate ideas and experiences through their work.

These performance-based band classes focus on the development of instrumental technique, music reading, and ensemble performance skills. Students will learn and strengthen the proper techniques for holding and playing brass, percussion, and woodwind instruments while developing characteristic tone quality, rhythm reading, dynamics, balance, blend, and overall musicianship. With approval and recommendation from the band director, students may elect to play the instrument best suited to their interests and abilities. Through daily rehearsals, exercises, rhythm studies, and performance preparation, students will continue building confidence and skill as individual musicians and ensemble members. In addition to large group performances, students are encouraged to pursue individual growth through opportunities such as solo and ensemble festivals, district honor bands, chamber ensembles, private lessons, and optional music composition and computational thinking activities. Students will prepare for and participate in Fall, Winter, LGPE, and Spring performances throughout the school year, with concert participation outside of regular class hours required.

These performance-based chorus classes focus on developing healthy vocal technique, musical understanding, and confident performance skills. Students will learn proper vocal production, breathing, posture, diction, and tone while strengthening music reading and sight-singing abilities. Through singing a variety of choral literature with and without accompaniment in up to three parts, students will develop musicianship, creativity, and ensemble performance skills. Chorus also provides opportunities for students to build teamwork, leadership, collaboration, and self-confidence through group rehearsals and performances. Participation in concert performances outside of regular class hours is required.

These Family and Consumer Science classes provide students with an introduction to the many career pathways within the Family and Consumer Sciences career clusters. Students will explore areas such as Nutrition and Food Science, Culinary Arts, Interiors/Fashion/Textiles, Housing and Community Management, Early Childhood Education, and Teaching as a Profession. Through hands-on activities and real-world applications, students will develop fundamental knowledge and technical skills that support success in school, careers, family life, and their communities. The courses also emphasize self-awareness, leadership, goal setting, and career exploration, helping students connect their personal interests to future career opportunities. Participation in FCCLA provides additional opportunities for leadership development, teamwork, and exploration of career pathways within Family and Consumer Sciences.

This middle school health sequence helps students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to make informed decisions that support lifelong wellness. Across sixth, seventh, and eighth grade, students learn to understand and apply key concepts of personal health, including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, disease prevention, and the impact of lifestyle choices on overall well-being. Students develop the ability to resist peer pressure, manage stress and anxiety, and make positive choices that support both physical and mental health. As they progress, they explore the causes and prevention of disease, including the role of family history and personal behaviors, and learn to evaluate health information and consumer resources. By eighth grade, students integrate these concepts to set personal health goals, prevent disease and addiction, and actively promote healthy lifestyles within their families and communities, demonstrating responsibility for their own health and the well-being of others.

This middle school Healthcare Science curriculum builds a progression of knowledge and skills that help students understand health, wellness, and disease prevention in real-world contexts. In sixth grade, students learn to make positive choices that support healthy lifestyles, including resisting peer pressure, managing stress and anxiety, and understanding how nutrition and physical activity impact energy, mood, and overall performance. In seventh grade, students deepen their understanding of human health by exploring the causes of disease, including genetic and environmental factors, and analyzing the short- and long-term effects of health decisions while applying health concepts to personal, family, and community situations. By eighth grade, students integrate multiple health concepts to set personal wellness goals, prevent disease and substance abuse, and develop habits that support lifelong health. Throughout the program, students build confidence in their knowledge and recognize their role in promoting health for themselves, their families, and their broader community.

This Middle School Marketing program is a three-course sequence that introduces students to foundational business, marketing, and entrepreneurial concepts while building employability, leadership, and communication skills. Students begin by learning basic marketing and economic principles and how they connect to entrepreneurship, including opportunities for self-employment and real-world business applications. As they progress, they explore the seven functions of marketing—finance, information management, distribution, product management, pricing, promotion, and selling—through project-based learning that strengthens critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In the final course, students examine high school pathway options within Marketing and Hospitality & Tourism, gaining exposure to careers in areas such as retail, sports and entertainment marketing, fashion merchandising, and hospitality management. Across all three courses, employability skills are reinforced, and participation in DECA provides opportunities for leadership development, competitive events, community service, and the creation of professional portfolios that demonstrate personal, social, and technical skills

This Engineering and Technology course sequence introduces students to the principles of engineering, design, innovation, and technological systems and their impact on the modern world. Across the courses, students learn how technology influences daily life and global society while developing skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Using the Engineering Design Process, students engage in hands-on challenges that involve brainstorming, research, visualization, modeling, construction, testing, experimentation, and refinement of designs. Students explore how criteria, constraints, systems thinking, and processes influence the development of effective solutions to real-world problems. They also study the history and impact of inventions and innovations, including how technologies evolve over time and how ideas can be protected through processes such as patenting. In addition, students examine technological systems at both micro and macro levels, learning how components interact within larger systems that impact humans, the environment, and the global community. Throughout the program, students strengthen skills in communication, research, and design while reinforcing concepts from math, science, social studies, and language arts. Exposure to engineering and technology careers, work ethics, and leadership development is embedded throughout all courses.
